The Brave Warriors of Namibia pipped Black Stars of Ghana by a goal to nil in a pre-afcon friendly at the Jebel Ali Sports Center of Execellence in the United Arab Emirates.
Starke Manfred scored the only goal in the fascinating encounter for the Brave Warriors on Sunday, June 9, 2019.
The Black Stars started the game on a higher note, creating glaring opportunities but failed to find the back of the net.
Namibia started warming themselves up in the wary encounter, which resulted in Starke Manfred 34th minutes opener to end the first department of the game.
Ghana returned from the tunnel with coach Kwesi Appiah substituting the entire starting eleven, given Mubarak Wakaso, Thomas Partey and the likes a chance to have a taste of the game.
The intense pressure from the Black Stars got the team a penalty in the 50th minutes but Mubarak Wakaso squandered the spot kick in a blink of an eye.
Ghana started firing from all angles but failed to restore parity. The game ended 0:1 advantage Namibia.
Ghana’s starting eleven; Lawrence Ati Zigi, Joseph Attamah, Abdul Baba Rahman, Jonathan Mensah, Joseph Aidoo, Afriyie Acquah, Yaw Yeboah, Abdul Fatawu Shafiu, Majeed Warris, Jordan Ayew, Christan Atsu.
Meanwhile, the Black Stars will meet South Africa on June 14, 2019 for the second pre-afcon friendly before the final squad for the main tournament in Egypt.
