The founder and leader of Lighthouse Chapel International, Bishop Dag Heward-Mills has apologized for criticising the overlord of Asante Kingdom, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II in a sermon.
This comes after a video circulating on social media had the Man of God chastising Otumfuo for not doing anything positively for his subjects.[ads2]
Since the video popped up, many have condemned the offensive sermon from Dag Heward-Mills for disrespecting the highly-respected Ghanaian traditional leader.
But in a statement issued by Dag Heward-Mills to apologize for criticizing Otumfuo, the Man of God stated that he made the sermon in a conference with his elders twenty years ago.[ads3]
He however highlighted on the achievements made by Otumfuo by saying “indeed, the accomplishments of his Majesty Otumfuo Nana Osei Tutu II are evident and manifest for all to see.
“His Majesty Otumfuo Nana Osei Tutu II, who is also the Chancellor of KNUST and supporter of education, has helped develop the infrastructure of 788 schools; built 40 complete 6 Unit classroom blocks, and donated over 1 million desks,” Bishop Dag wrote in a statement issued to Otumfuo.[ads4]
He added, “In this and ways too numerous to mention, His Majesty Otumfuo Nana Osei Tutu II has positively affected many sectors of society, reaching far beyond the borders of Ghana.”
