The Minister of Information Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has said government has not decided to reopen schools soon as making rounds in media.
According to the Minister, government has begun consultations to reopen schools but a decision has not been made yet.

Speaking at the Information Ministry’s media briefing on Covid-19 on Thursday, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah said , ” Schools won’t reopen soon because the government has not made a decision yet but consultations have begun.”
Per reports in the media, the Information Minister is said to have revealed that government is looking at reopening Schools as consultations are far in advanced.
He is reported to have continued that, government will be considering regular testing on kids when schools resume and will also have to make sure every student is equipped with face masks before reporting to school.

Schools and Universities have been shut down since March 16, 2020 alongside other public events as part of measures to mitigate the spread of the novel Coronavirus in Ghana as a string of African nations have imposed tighter restrictions to control the spread of the pandemic.
The President of Ghana, Nana Akufo-Addo announced the decision in a nationwide broadcast that schools and Universities will remain closed until further notice.
Public gatherings, including conferences, religious services, sports matches and political rallies have also been suspended.
