Former Hearts of Oak captain, Amankwah Mireku has revealed the team should pay the $25,000 promise made to them for winning the 2000 CAF Champions League.
Hearts of Oak beat Tunisian side, Esperance in the double legged final tk win their first ever continental trophy after failing twice in the 1970 and 1979.
After a bumper promise of $25,000 bonus to the players, the Phobians delivered.

“The promise of $25,000 dollars per player for winning the 2000 CAF Champions League must be amicably settled. A promise is a promise so if not fulfilled, it can affect the team going forward.
“If they pay or not life goes on, it’s very sad sometimes but that doesn’t mean we wish the team (Hearts of Oak) hell.

Emmanuel Osei Kuffour was the hero of the tournament finishing as the top scorer with 10 goals.
