Manager of Women’s Premier League side, Ladystrikers, Christian Mensah has opened up on the financial difficulties associated with the running of the women’s league game.
Christian Mensah added that the women’s game is only done as benevolence with no income generation expected, but the 2019/2020 NWL season gave hope as a fortune changer.
In Christian’s recent media interaction on Spice FM, he revealed that the biggest transfer fee received in transferring a player from the Ladystrikers is GHS 1,200.00.

“GFA gave us GHS 10,000 as seed money, but that’s just a month’s bill. No club as been able to attract a corporate sponsor, basically its from the benevolent of people. Centrally from the GFA, we need investment from GFA. Mostly, all players travel as an amateur from Ghana to abroad. There has never been a better income generation.
“Local transfer, my most expensive player was sold for GHS 1,2000 that’s locally, most of the players go for free. Players go to the services; Immigration, Police, Army, Fire Service…” Christian Mensah on Spice FM.
