The Kuwaiti government has deported 245 Ghanaians who are in the country illegally.
This was disclosed by the Information Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah during a media briefing on Friday.

According to the Minister, the 245 Ghanaians will arrive in Ghana via a chartered flight on the cost of the Kuwaiti government.
They are expected to land at the Kotoka International Airport on Saturday May 30,2020.
Kojo Oppong Nkrumah indicated that, when these 245 Ghanaians arrive in the country, they will go under mandatory quarantine to determine whether they have contracted the Coronavirus disease.

He mentioned that, the Ghanaian government will bare the cost of the mandatory quarantine of these deportees.
Should any of these deportees test positive during the mandatory quarantine, they will be given the necessary treatments. If anyone test negative, they will remain at the quarantine centre for another second test.
Meanwhile Ghana has recorded 6486 cases of the pandemic with 1951 recoveries and 31 deaths.
