Ghana captain Andre Ayew has sustained an injury in Swansea City game against Wycombe in the English Championship on Saturday afternoon.
The 31-year old picked up the injury in the early minutes of the game which forced his early substitution.[ads2]
Ayew who has been the pillar for the Swans this season had to be replaced by the experienced Wayne Routledge, who made his 300th appearance for the club in the game.
His early exit in the game had a great effect on the Swansea City team which ended them sharing the spoils with relegation-threatening Wycombe.[ads3]
Swansea had to come from behind to draw 2-2 with bottom-placed Wycombe at the Liberty Stadium.
Ayew could be out of action for Swansea City for a while, bringing their English Premier League qualification dreams hanging on a thin thread.
Swansea is currently placed third with 76 points and may have to go through the playoffs to qualify for the English Premier League next season.[ads5]
