The Ghana Police Service has been ordered by an Ofaakor Circuit Court to send comedian, Benson Nana Yaw Oduro popularly known as Funny Face to the Accra Psychiatric Hospital for two weeks.
This comes after the popular comedian shared a video of himself few weeks ago being handcuffed by the police for unlawful discharge of firearms in Kasoa.[ads2]
At a Court ruling on Monday, the Ofaakor Circuit Court presided by His Honour Ebenezer Osei Darko ordered the Ghana Police Service to send the comedian to the psychiatric hospital for two weeks because the court see him to be suffering from depression.
Funny Face was seen in the video which he uploaded on social media on February 8, 2021 being dragged by some policemen to a standby police vehicle.[ads3]
The Central Regional Police PRO, DSP Irene Serwaa Oppong in an interview with JoyNews, explained that Funny Face was arrested after engaging in an altercation with a drinking pub owner in Kasoa.
She added that, Funny Face was also reported to have fired warning shots with his pump-action gun during the scuffle, an action which prompted his arrest.[ads5]
