Asante Kotoko terminate Sulley Muniru’s contract

Ghana Premier League heavyweight, Asante Kotoko have terminated the contract of midfielder Sulley Muniru.

The 28-year old has had his contract terminated on mutual consent after just nine matches in the Ghana Premier League.

Muniru joined Asante Kotoko on a two-year deal in November, 2020 as a free agent ahead of the 2020/21 league season.

He has parted ways with Asante Kotoko after just two months with the club.

A statement from the club reads, “Asante Kotoko and Sulley Muniru mutually terminate contract without any financial obligations.”

His transfer to Asante Kotoko was a return to Ghana league, seven years after leaving Liberty Professionals. He started at the Scientific Soccer Lad’s youth team and graduated to the first team in 2012.

Muniru left Ghana in 2013 and featured for five clubs abroad, including Romanian giants Steaua Bucuresti and CFR Cluj.
